Our commitment

Sustainability

From the word go Harbour Hounds pledged to be a brand that does more than just retail and ensure we don’t harm our planet.

Behind the scenes, we are constantly looking for new ways to develop sustainable processes.

  • We source and work with UK and EU suppliers who share our values.

  • We recycle as much as we can and now offer a ‘Recycle Your Robe’ to all our customers.

  • Our packaging is recycled, recyclable and acid-free.

  • Our fabrics are Oeko-Tex ®certified.

  • We choose to support marine conservation charities because it’s not just dogs we love…it’s all animals especially those who live in our seas.

We are always open to feedback and new sustainable ideas, so do let us know if you can help us!

Our pledge

  • Responsible sourcing

We are committed to responsible sourcing. We pride ourselves on working with suppliers who share our values.

Our code of conduct forms the foundation of our relationships with our suppliers. It lets them know what we expect when it comes to working conditions and business practices. All of our new suppliers have to declare that they understand and will follow the requirements. We can check up on the factory at any time and ask them to demonstrate compliance with our code.

  • Code of conduct

The code of conduct covers the following key principles:

    1. General Principle
    2. Non- Discrimination
    3. Forced Labour
    4. Child Labour
    5. Wages and Hours
    6. Working Conditions
    7. Freedom of Association
    8. Environment

  • Oeko-Tex ® Certified

Our factory is Oeko-tex ® certified. This means hazardous substances, such as heavy metals, toxic dyes, and carcinogens, are not used in the manufacture of our products.

The standard applies to various levels of production, such as raw and finished yarns, woven and knitted fabrics, accessories, sewing threads or labels, as well as ready-made garments. For a whole garment to be certified, all of its components need to have the STANDARD 100 certification.

All good news for our environment!

  • Low plastic

None of our products are individually wrapped in plastic when we receive them from our suppliers. We actively source metal and recyclable components for our products, in the development process. Free paper bags are offered to our customers in our pop-up shop.

  • Recycling

Like most of us at home and in the workplace we consciously recycle. Our packaging is recycled and recyclable. We offer our customers recyclable paper bags in our pop-up shop. All eco toys are biodegradable, made from sustainable jute and coconut fiber, and covered with a soft suede by-product. Our Dog Drying robes are now also recyclable, helping other dogs less fortunate than yours.

  • Low emissions

We try to keep our emissions as low as possible. Manufacturing takes place in Europe and we have started working with local cottage industry in the UK. We love this and plan to do more with our local community as we grow.

It would be great to have zero emissions…so we’ll keep working on it.

Dog drying robes
We love them and so do you

You’ve told us many times that you and your pooch love our Dog Drying Robes…thank you, we love them too.

So what makes Harbour Hounds the best Dog Drying Towel on the market?

  • About us

Our best days start with a walk on the beach with our dogs. Breathing the fresh salty air, listening to the waves, and watching our pups run free. What could be better…

  • Recycle your robe

Our dog rescue centers are full of pups less fortunate than ours. Many get to swim as part of their therapy and exercise.

    You can help them…

  • Charities
